Air Chief Marshal Sir Neville Patrick (‘Sir Nev’) McNamara KBE, AO, AFC, AE RAAF, Rtd.
Born 17 April, 1923. Husband of Joan. Former sergeant pilot in the SWPA in WWII, being commissioned in 1944, Kittyhawk pilot. Served in Korea with 77 squadron, including a brief period as CO. Commanded RAAF base Ubon Thailand in mid sixties. Commanded RAAF forces in South Vietnam 1971 and was deputy commander Australian Force Vietnam as an Air Commodore. Often flew combat sorties with the helicopters of 9 Squadron, RAAF. To keep his hours up, be familiar with the state of air support to military operations and foster morale . Had key staff postings in London and Washington. Former Chief of Air Staff and Chief of Defence Force Staff. Bio-data on web. A very decent man.
