Captain Aidan Freear Lade RAN Retd

Born 1925, entered RANC 1939. Awarded Engineering Prize on Passing Out. Appointed MIDN (E) 1 September 1942 and proceeded to UK for engineering course. Appointed to KENT, he spent four and a half months in the Home Fleet and was present with the carriers in the attack on TIRPITZ in Alton Fiord. He was the CMDR (E) of PERTH during her first and second deployments to Vietnam in the late 1960s. Awarded a Commendation for Distinguished Service in the Vietnam End of War List.
