Captain Spencer Drummond DSC Royal Navy

Sadly the death of Captain Spencer Drummond was announced in the Daily Telegraph on Tues 16 Oct.

“DRUMMOND – Captain Spencer Drummond DSC RN, peacefully on October 12th 2007. Husband of Cecily, and by his late wife, Patricia, father of Deirdre, Crispin, Hereward, Ianthe and Helena and grandfather to their many children. Funeral at St Peter’s RC Church, Winchester, on Friday October 26th at 10.45 am. Family flowers only. Donations to RNLI c/o Richard Steel & Partners, Alderman House, City Road, Winchester SO 23 8SG.”

Captain Drummond qualified from ND 10 in 1947 and later the Dagger ND course in 1950, he had a distinguished subsequent career, including navigating ARK ROYAL in 56/57. He was also a very loyal supporter of the ND Association, attending many dinners, the most recent being 2006.
