Commander Edward Cecil (‘Ted’) Cottle OBE MIMechE CEng Royal Navy

Ted Cottle died in Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, on Friday 23rd January 2015, aged 79. A distinguished Air Engineer, he joined 99HSP at Linton-on-ouse in September 1961 together with a motley crowd of GL(Seamen, Engineers, Observers and Pussers) in response to the need to man up the second Commando Carrier. After helo training at Redhill with Bristows he was in 846 and 848 Squadrons before becoming an MTP at Fleetlands and other appointments including OIC MARTSU. 

He will be remembered for his calm expertise and wonderful dry humour.

The cremation will be at Portchester on Friday 13th February at 1300
