Geoffrey Penn was an Engineer (E)(ME), who, after retiring, wrote a number of books on Naval history – “Up Funnel, Down Screw” – a history of Victorian Marine Engineering in the RN – being probably the best known. His latest was published in 2000 and was titled “In-fighting Admirals”
