Commander Hugh Pryce Jarrett RAN

On board HMAS Warrnambool 13 September, 1947 when it sunk after encountering a mine off Cockburn Reef. Four RAN sailors died and about half of  the crew, including the CO, commander A.J. Travis, were injured. An own goal, as the defensive mine was laid by HMAS Bungaree during WWII., Hugh later earned a civilian life-saving medal. He was a highly regarded naval historian.
