Commander Norman Bruce Dixon MACRAE OAM

He joined the RAN as a sailor after WW II. He served in HMAS ‘Tobruk’ in Korea as a Leading Signalman, receiving a Mention-in-Despatches. He was promoted to Commissioned Communications Officer, and served in HMS ‘Cavendish’ at Suez. He also served during the Indonesian confrontation 1962-66. He was promoted to Commander, 31 Dec. 1970, and took command ot HMAS ‘Harman’, the RAN Communications Station near Canberra, in 1972. He received his OAM for community services after retirement.
