Lieutenant Commander Henry Uvedale Antrobus LAMBERT

Henry Lambert was a member of our Committee from 1984-2000, and a Trustee, 1996-2000.
He started his career as an Exhibitioner at New College, but joined the RNVR 1942, and was later commissioned, serving in the Western Approaches at the end of the war. He remained in the RNVR/RNR, retiring as a Lieut. Commander. He joined Barclays Bank in 1948, and rose to be a Director of various bits of the Bank, including being Chairman of Barclays International, and Deputy-Chairman of Barclays PLC.
He acted as our financial advicer, and I and my predecessor were grateful for his help and advice which helped to keep NR on a sound fianncial footing
