13-entry joined Dartmouth 1935. Specialised as a submariner. Served in WW2 initially in a destroyer in the Atlantic, latterly in submarines in the Far East. Mentioned in Dispatches. Passed Perisher in 1946. Commanded Saga, Sentinel, Solent, Trump and Taciturn. Had a varied but generally successful career after retirement.
