Lieutenant Commander Rt Hon Sir Owen Woodhouse KBE, DSC, KT, PC RNZNVR
Sir Owen Woodhouse joined the RNZNVR in 1940. He served with the RN in MTB’’s. He was awarded a DSC in an action in the Gulf of Venice April 1945 when three boats of the 28th Flotilla sank five out of eight lighters. Sir Owen in command of MTB 410 sank two lighters. He was then Assistant Naval Attaché in Belgrade.Post-war he returned to his legal practice. He became a Judge in 1957 and was President of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand from 1981 to 1986
