Lieutenant Commander Tom Biddlecombe Royal Navy

The following details were received from the ND Officers’ Association:

Tom joined the RN in 1972 and trained as a Fighter Controller in 1979. He joined HMS NEWCASTLE in 1980 before being appointed to HMS INVINCIBLE in April 1982 (inc. Falklands Conflict). Tom became a PWO in 1984. Promoted Lt Cdr in 1985 he was appointed to HMS SOUTHAMPTON in 1985 before returning to HMS DRYAD for his final appointment in 1986. He retired from the RN in 1988 having completed a 16 yr commission.

Tom was in the commercial world until 1996 when he took up the post of Chief Executive at CRASH, the construction and property industry charity for the homeless. He took early retirement in 2007 to tackle illness which eventually led to his untimely death. He is survived by his wife Janet.
