Rear Admiral Andrew Robertson AO, DSC Royal Australian Navy
Joined RANC 1939. King's Gold Medallist. Midshipman 1942-44 in Pacific and Indian Ocean, BCOF in Bataan post-war then minesweeping in Swan. Topped Long G course at Excellent in 1949. GO Anzac in Korea two deployments 1951 & 1952 (DSC). RN Staff Course 1956. Promoted Commander and CO Quickmatch 1957. Later Joint Staff in Singapore then Fleet Operations Officer. Captain in 1964 and CO Yarra in 1967. RCDS 1972. CO Sydney 1973 then RANAS Albatross. Instrumental in foundation of Naval Aviation Museum at Nowra. Commodore as DGNOP then promoted Rear Admiral and HADS London 1977-79. Then Flag Officer Naval Support Command 1980-82. AO 1980, retired 1982. Federal President of Navy League of Australia for many years and closely associated with evolution of Australian National Maritime Museum.
