Rear Admiral David Michael Eckersley-Maslin CB

When I was a Lt.Cdr.(WE) in Torquay in the Dartmouth Training Squadron in 1967/68 E-M was CO of a sister ship (Eastbourne?).  We met on Squadron social occasions and I always found him very friendly and approachable, and open to discussion, not an attitude typical of COs in those days towards junior technical fry.
