Rear-Admiral William John (“Bill”) DOVERS CBE, DSC (RAN)
He joined the RAN in 1932. Commanded HMAS Swan, Barcoo, Gladstone, Arunta, Voyager, Sydney, Supply. He was also CO HMAS Creswell. He was Commander Royal Malayan Navy 1960-62. He was FO commanding HMA Fleet, 1971-73 His final appointment was FOIC East Australian Area, retiring in 1975. In retirement he was Chief Project Officer for the development of the Australian Defence Force Academy for eight years
