Rear Admiral William Moss Landymore OBE, CD RCN
He was one of three Canadian Flag Officers who trained in the Royal Navy with the 40th term entry of Special Entries Cadets. He joined HMS Frobisher on 1 May 1936 and trained in her for three terms. He specialised as a Gunnery Officer and was awarded 6 month’s seniority as a Lieutenant for war service. He was Mentioned-in-Despatches in the New Year 1946 Honours. He was promoted to Commander on the 1 January 1953 and was awarded an OBE as Commanding Officer of HMCS Iroquois in the Korean War Ceasefire List in 1954. He was promoted to Captain on 1 October 1959 and to Rear Admiral on 1 November 1962.
