Vice Admiral Sir Neil Dudley Anderson KBE CB

On June 5 after a fall at home. He joined the RNZN in 1944 as SE Cadet and was a Navigation Specialist. He was first Captain of HMNZS TARANAKI in 1960 when he was appointed at short notice while on a Staff course in the UK and the CO Desig was killed in a motor accident and later commanded HMNZS WAIKATO. He was CNS 1978 – 1980 and CDS 1981-1983. His wife Barbara is a successful author.
