Sir, – For me the most important article in the latest edition of The Naval Review [113/3, p. 336] is Steve Jermy’s article ‘The Balance of Power in the Russo-Ukraine War’ which contains an excoriating review of our national ability to take a strategic approach to our defence, or for that matter to almost any other of our public necessities. Let me briefly explain why.
