When looking at the issues of Canadian Naval Review (CNR) published over the past year, as we are here, several themes emerge. The first, and most prominent, theme in the past year is the Arctic. After the Cold War ended, the Arctic Ocean rarely drew the attention of Canadian political and military authorities. But that has changed. The Arctic is now a significant point of interest. And, as you’ll see, the authors do not agree on the particulars of the future in the Arctic Ocean.
