I pen this foreword with a heavy heart and as the interim Chairman of the Naval Review, a position I find myself in due to the tragic and untimely passing of Sir Clive Johnstone. Clive was a personal friend as he was to very many, indeed those who knew him will recognise that few people attract the affection of others not through effort but through a magnetism based on overwhelming decency, ability, and natural charm.
