Leadership is hard to define. A quick internet search will result in well over 200 definitions of leadership. It has been said that defining leadership is like defining beauty: “You can’t explain it, but you know when you see it.” Although this saying empowers individuals to discover their leadership philosophy, it can also create the idea that true leadership is subjective and, as a result, leadership definitions and practices can lose their meaning.
