Sir, – I am surprised and deeply disappointed by your decision to publish Guy Liardet’s ‘Decarbonisation’ (Volume 109, Number 2, Spring 2021) and by your editorial support for it. Although he has the right to express his opinions and be considered for publication like any other member, your introduction to the piece falls into the common trap of giving those opinions – based as they are in the usual malign pseudoscience – equal validity and credence as the preceding article by Cdr Simon Boon.
