Naval Shipbuilding – a strategic assessment

First Sea Lord, General Sir Gwyn Jenkins, recently asked for our imagination, ideas, innovation and collaboration. This article provides all of these, to help readers understand the current state of UK Naval Shipbuilding. The primary thesis is that – in the context of any national re-armament, developing a “new hybrid Navy” or being ready for warfighting in four years’ time – the UK’s naval shipbuilding capability needs significant advance planning.
