Sir, – I write again regarding the new RFA Fleet Solids Support Ships (FSSS). My previous letter [NR113/3, p. 458] referred to rumours that the new FSSS would not carry ‘free stock’ for issue to customer ships as required, unlike previous generations of RFA solids support ships. I have now established that these rumours were correct, and that the new ships will not carry ‘stock’ for re-issue.
