By the Editor: A topic that hasn’t disappeared, perhaps more overshadowed recently by other, seemingly more pressing, issues. However, the reality is, if current trends persist, that within the next 100 years there will be double the number of people in Africa, India and China. Mass migration is a chronic issue. As politically inconvenient as it might be, in the UK our working age population is shrinking by 0.1 per cent per annum (by 2050 only 61 per cent of the UK’s population will be of working age, down from 67 per cent now).
