Sir, – I read with interest the article by an unnamed Sub-Lieutenant about his experiences with the RN’s AIB (online) and that of the RAF [114/1, p. 32]. As a successful candidate at the old-style AIB back in the 1970s, I can understand why he is less impressed with just the on-line version. I believe much has been lost by not meeting aspirants in person and having that extra eyes-on contact. That said, I was amused towards the end of the article where said SLt states, based on his experience in the Navy to date, that “the people are by far the best thing about it.” That would seem to indicate…
