Sir, – Not so long back as I was walking through Headquarters I noticed, you couldn’t miss it, an RAF airman wearing a ‘full set’. I commented upon this to a young RAF officer who happened to be with me at the time and asked him why this was so. He replied that Air Command had recently altered dress regulations to allow RAF personnel to wear a ‘full set’. Why would they do that I enquired, it is a Royal Navy tradition? “Who wouldn’t want to be like the Royal Navy?” he replied.
