By the Editor: It is too easy to compare oneself to the familiar. Perhaps one should routinely look at the more unfamiliar to judge one’s true capability. The author here takes us on a rapid 85-year journey of development of the Indian Navy – now a navy of substance and regional influence that has welded together the best of traditions and practices from a broad range of partners.
