By the Editor: Do we effectively continue to cut off our nose to spite our face? Or should we, as the author argues, reassess ability more broadly in our modern recruits, in order to gain better access a pool of talent willing to take the ‘Queen’s shilling’ if it wasn’t for the insurmountable hurdle of outdated recruitment standards and, possibly, unreconstructed views on disability.
