Sir, – I read with interest Unfettered’s recent article (NR108/3 pp 388–391) looking at uniform changes and lamenting the current state. I hope he and other NR members will be pleased to learn that the poor quality of the current seagoing working rig (Personal Clothing System – PCS) is acknowledged and that action is in hand to bring in a significant upgrade. Since writing his article, Unfettered may also have seen the announcement in the national press of the Royal Marines new combat uniform, which has none of the issues of the lower quality Army PCS and will also serve to visibly distinguish…
