By the Editor – there is no final word on an issue that is a truly wicked problem, even one that is promoted as an existential threat. Recent public censure of the BBC’s climate editor by its own executive complaint’s unit, for misleading and inaccurate reporting on claims regarding wild weather (The Times 11 May 2022), shows debate is not clear cut and suffers from, at times, unnecessary exaggeration on all sides.
