By the Editor – a straight forward question asked by the author: why are service personnel past their apparent usefulness much earlier than is the norm in society? Join the Navy and become ‘Navy made’ is a current recruiting slogan. What is not made clear is that a naval career is terminated at the age of between 50 and 55.
