Sir, – I have just read with interest Tim Honnor’s letter (NR108/1) about the memorial event in September 2013 at the X-Craft Monument at Kylesku. On the 20 December last year, I attended John Lorimer’s thanksgiving service at a packed Kirkmichael parish church in Ayrshire, where he lived. It was a moving, and happy, celebration with a strong representation of current submariners as befitted a remarkable man.
