Two letters highlighting institutional learning, whether for better in the service of ceremonial fleet reviews or for worse in terms of political-bureaucratic stagnation.

Attention to Port, The Power Station Sir, – A name like Manley Power is sure to bring you fame as an Admiral, a Knight of the Realm and a Commander-in-Chief and so it would prove. But what of Naval Cadet Manley Power at RNC Osborne in 1917? Well, with such a name you would surely be singled out by the Chief PTI on Day One and ordered to justify your name in the Boxing Ring. But what happened in between?
