We are lookig into recording this event for the benefit of the wider NR audience.

About the evening:

Guests with an interest in maritime are invited to join an evening with Sir Clive Johnstone for a FREE lecture which considers the impact of geopolitics on maritime trade, and the weaponisation of supply chain.

The evening, which will take place at St Nick’s Church, Pier Head, Liverpool will start with an opportunity for some networking with refreshments, followed by a short lecture and Q&A session.

This lecture has been organised by the Battle of the Atlantic Memorial Charity, and is part of a series of free lectures in the run up to the 80th Battle of the Atlantic Commemoration in May 2023. It has been enabled by the generous sponsorship of Peel Ports.

Attendance at this exclusive event is FREE, but you must register in advance. Please do so here

Sir Clive’s lecture will look at the Russian Navy and why understanding it (and other naval forces) better matters. He will link this thread with current and historic examples of insight, and of ignorance. He will use one of his examples the Battle of Atlantic – highlighting the role that Liverpool, the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy, and WATU played in the Allies eventual victory.
