Alfred Thayer Mahan and Baron Antoine-Henri Jomini were, by the end of the 19th century, the principle strategic thinkers in their respective fields of maritime strategy and land warfare. Despite utilising strategy for different domains there is a large degree of overlap between the two thinkers.
