Across the fault-line In the Spring of 2019 I boarded a train from Lviv, Ukraine towards Kraków, Poland. It was election time. Incumbent President Poroshenko was fighting it out against a young insurgent comedian called Vlodimir Zelensky. Election posters adorned the station’s imposing yet decadent arches as we trundled our way towards the modern glass of Kraków Główny station. Lviv and Kraków are connected by more than a railway, however.
