OPERATION HIGHMAST The Carrier Strike Group successfully returned from its Far East deployment at the end of November. Some interesting statistics have been provided. The Carrier Air Group flew more than 2,500 sorties. Fifteen countries were visited. The Group interacted with 30 nations. The Group sailed more than 40,000 nautical miles. The force has operated with nine different carrier groups. An F-35B landed on the Japanese hybrid carrier Kaga for the first time. Prince of Wales embarked with 24 jets, all fifth-generation F-35Bs.
