This is an abridged version of 1SL’s new year message, promulgated mid-January, that not all members will have seen. It sets his priorities for the last few months of his tenure and beyond. 2018 was the year of “expanding maritime horizons” and saw the Royal Navy delivering operational effect round the world, including intense activity in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean and Black Sea, together with a renewed drumbeat of presence in the Asia- Pacific that for me has been a welcome return to truly global reach. 2019 needs to build on that success and so we will concentrate on Delivering Global…
