Sir, – I was surprised to read in A J Wilson’s excellent article regarding his meeting with HRH the Duke of Edinburgh (NR Vol 109/4), that due to modern aviation being complicated, there are ‘no Air Reserves anymore’. I anticipate that the RNR’s Air Branch, details of which can be found at the link https://www. royalnavy.mod.uk/our-organisation/maritime- reserves/royal-naval-reserve/air-branch/rnr- air-branch may have different views on this issue.
