HMS Clyde has been deployed in the South Atlantic since 2008 under permanent lease from BAE systems; she is due to remain in the Falkland Islands until she is replaced by HMS Forth in late 2019. Throughout her period in theatre Clyde has remained under command of JFC and under the control of Commander British Forces South Atlantic Islands (CBFSAI) with tasking routinely coordinated by the HQ BFSAI staff.
