A look at the history demonstrates that the press of mobilization often requires abandoning long-held social conventions. In 2021, the House of Commons Defence Committee released their fourth report on women in the Armed Forces and how best we can be supported. The report, titled ‘Protecting those who protect us: Women in the Armed Forces from Recruitment to Civilian Life: Government Response to the Committee’s Second Report’, aimed to look into the shortcomings and disparity between the genders in the Services.
