The Royal Navy Cadets and the Community

Living in Stoke-on-Trent is about as far away from the sea you can get in the United Kingdom. Certainly, the major Naval Bases are several hours drive away and the nearest RNR units at least an hour’s drive away. You would expect the Royal Navy to have little profile in this and similar areas. However this is not always the case. Some readers may have been in the Cadets at school.
